Heather Buen

Heather Buen grew up in the small town of Haliimaile on the island of Maui in Hawaii where her family was actively involved in politics. She attended Hawaii Pacific University obtaining a degree in Corporate Communications and relocated to the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

She has worked in the electric utilities and telecommunications industries in the areas of sales, marketing, and project management. In 2010, she co-founded a digital marketing company and began a career as a freelance journalist.

In 2017, she sold that company and then began social impact and political consulting, eventually forming a new company in 2021 called B and R Strategies LLC and consulting on local, state, and Congressional campaigns.

She has earned an MBA and a Master's in Finance from the University of Maryland Global Campus.

She helped organize the AAPI Outreach Committee for the Tarrant County Democratic Party in 2019. She was also Communications Chair for the Tarrant County Democratic Party in 2020, flipping historically red Tarrant County for Joe Biden. In 2020, she was elected to serve on the City of Fort Worth, Community Action Partners Council for District 10.

Heather now resides in Little Elm, Texas with her husband and children.
