Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities have grown dramatically in Texas in the last decade. Recognizing that our community holds untapped potential to shape the world we want to live in tomorrow, the mission of Rise AAPI is to unite, organize, and support the progressive AAPI community in Texas.
We envision a Texas where AAPIs are not just active, but actively progressive. Our success is a community that uses their vote as a tool for social justice, participates in the political landscape to challenge inequality, and drives transformative change.
Who We Are
Rise AAPI is a state-wide 501(c)(4) organization strengthening progressive power at all levels of government. Our mission is to win lasting power and policy change that benefits all. We strive for equity and justice by building power through community directed organizing, increasing civic engagement, and empowering our community to actively advocate for their interests within the legislative framework.
Engage: We spread vital election info through various channels: digital, mailers, texting, phone banking, and in-person outreach. To build an informed AAPI community that participates in elections, we host candidate forums and provide voter education resources for better decision-making.
Educate: We believe the AAPI community should have access to information about important policy issues that affect their lives.We stand against anti-AAPI hate, work for gun violence prevention, uphold voting rights, and tackle discriminatory legislation.
Support: We are committed to building a robust AAPI organizing infrastructure by collaborating with and supporting other AAPI organizations around the state. Together with partner organizations, we organize town halls, AAPI Heritage Month events, and panel discussions. This united front strengthens AAPI impact and representation.
