Virtual Grassroots Training: "State Legislatures 101: How They Work and How You Can Make an Impact"

In 2023, state legislatures across the United States passed some of the harmful laws on alien land laws, anti-LGBTQ, and anti-abortion in recent memory. Immigrant communities are among the most directly affected by such legislation. Have you ever wondered how state legislatures work and how you can fight back against these bills? Join us for a virtual civic engagement training on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at 4pm ET/1pm PT. This training aims to educate how you can make an impact in the state legislative process and have a say at the decision-making table. We will use the case example of Texas and Louisiana, where our multi-ethnic coalition powered by ordinary citizens helped defeat alien land law bills, and mobilize members to action on similar legislation around the country.

This event is co-hosted by the National Iranian American Council (NIAC), Asian Americans Advancing Justice (AAJC), National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA), and Asian Texans for Justice. RSVP and the Zoom link will be sent to you.
